Tamil Nadu Government needs to construct a modern spacious gallery to promote art

Kalaichemmal B.R. Annapillai’s 86th Birthday painting exhibition inaugural function took place on 05-01-2020 at Painter’s Garden Gallery, T.Nagar, Chennai by Mr. M.Balasuramaniyan, Former Principal. Govt College of Fine Arts Kumbakonam. The special guests that graced the occasion were Mr.A.Parthiban, Deputy General Manager, NABARD, Mrs.Nandinisharma, Director of Painter’s Garden Gallery. Mrs.D.Srinidhi, General Secretary, TACIA organised the exhibition.

B.R.Annapillai, Founder & President, Tamil Nadu Arts & Crafts Improvement Association while appreciating the Tamil Nadu Government for honouring him with Kalaichemmal stated that more focus is needed in order o improve and promote art and artists such as appointment of art teachers in schools, providing pension for senior artists.

He further stated that it will be wonderful if the Tamil Nadu Government needs to takes steps to construct a huge art gallery where about 300 to 400 paintings can be easily displayed at the Egmore museum premises with will be a boost to artists to display the creative talents and would also make art to flourish in a big way.

B.R. Annapillai’s 86th Birthday painting exhibition is on display at  Painter’s Garden Gallery, New No 16, Old No 33, Thanikachalam Road, T Nagar ,Chennai till 9th January 2020 from 11am to 7pm.
