The Vidyodaya Schools Alumni Reunion held on 25th January 2020 saw a big turn out of more than 300 old students right from the 1962 batch to the 2018 batch. The 1970 batch had their 50th year celebration at school by planting a sapling and also donating Rs.2 lakhs for annual prizes to be awarded in memory of Mrs.E S Appasamy (The Founder) and Ms V Appasamy.
The afternoon saw the meeting and honouring of old teachers and retiring teachers,some lively dances by the present students and also the giving of 12 scholarships worth Rs.1.44 lakhs to present students from low socio-economic backgrounds. The Correspondent and the Heads of both Vidyodaya Girls Higher Secondary School and
Vidyodaya Matriculation Academy spoke about the progress of the school and all the various prizes that the schools had won in Sports and other activities.
An appeal for funds for the scholarships and for the new buildings saw the old students coming forward immediately with more than Rs.1 Lakh. Nostalgic moments were shared and relived by all. There were door prizes followed by a sumptuous high tea. As always the reunion was truly, a great walk down memory lane for all.
